Koni:150 years old and still totally new

As a brand rich in tradition, KONI is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year – the perfect occasion to unveil a fresh new brand image.

Back in 1857 KONI started out in Oud-Beijerland, Netherlands, as a company producing horse harnesses, before responding to new market opportunities and progressing into the production of radiator grilles and cowling for automobile suspensions and later body part pressing and painting. The production of friction shock absorbers for cars began in 1932. The first adjustable telescopic shock absorbers for cars and trucks were soon followed by specially designed shock absorbers for rail vehicles. Over the past few decades, KONI has grown to become a multinational specialist in shock absorber systems, with its own branches in France, Germany and the USA as well as national commercial partnerships and agencies in more than 90 countries worldwide. The main fields of activity are focused on the development and production of high-performance suspension shock absorber technology for passenger cars, racing cars and trucks, buses, trailers, locomotives and rail vehicles, as well as special applications such as bridge dampers.
Since 1972 the KONI Corporate Group, with more than 1,000 employees, has been a subsidiary of the US ITT Corporation and part of its “Motion & Flow Control Segment”.

Relaunching the KONI brand
The relaunch of the KONI band with new imagery, new literature, a completely redesigned internet presence and, of course, a New Logo underlines the passion and commitment which the world’s leading manufacturer of high-quality shock absorbers has put into the design of innovative and leading-edge technology since its inception 150 years ago.

Also important is the effect of racing, emphasising the competence of KONI in motor racing as reflected in numerous commitments such as the Formula 3 Euro Series, or Formula 1 where KONI is currently an official supplier of shock absorbers for Vodafone McLaren Mercedes.
This website is devised as a portal for the various product lines produced by Koni. An easy-to-navigate interface offering the user a clear overview of the content, together with a well-balanced ratio of text and graphics, were at the forefront of the relaunch. In addition to a simplified structure and extended content, the design was also fully modernised. Complementing the up-to-date KONI News, the site also provides a U.K dealer search option as well as plenty of tips and advice on the subject of shock absorber production, product solutions for diverse applications, technical product descriptions and complete product catalogues.
